How soon after appendectomy can I have ?

My husband and I are going crazy! I had my appendix and an ovarian cyst removed exactly one week ago today... I feel great, though! I called the doctors a few days ago, and they said I'd have to wait until my follow up appt to see, which isn't till the 17th! Has anyone had this issue before? Our one year wedding anniversary is coming up in 2 days... I'd like to make it special. Someone with advice please help!!! Thanks :)
