What do you think about the United States Marines Corps?
I treat and respect all people who served and are serving in all branches of the military the same. But Marines are treated way too well by way too many people. The thing is the Marines are amphibious infantry, but they had nothing to do with the largest amphibious operation of all time, the Invasion of Normandy. During World War 2 the Marines were a part of the Navy. And served soley in the Pacific, while the Army and Navy fought in both theaters of the war. In 1947, after World War 2, Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 5 star army general and later 2-term president of the United States, who lead the allies to victory in Europe also lead the movement to terminate the Marines Corps. And have the ets of the Corps folded into the Army and Navy. Even though in the end it never happened, soldiers, sailors, and Marines have always been treated the same... Until Vietnam... Because the Army drafted soldiers into service, which could compromise for quality of the personnal. And ever since the 1970s when everything turned quire and retarded, the Marines have looked down on the Army, Navy, and Air Force as lower lifeforms than themselves. I would not stand for that, do you think that is right? Do you also think the Marine Corps should have terminated in 1947?
