Does anyone else feel that lei jeans fall apart to easily?

I ordered 2 pairs from ebay because I think the older style ones (with the blue label on the back) look a lot ier. My g/f has a fairly new pair, and a brand new pair, but there is just something about the old school lei's. When i received them, both pairs have holes or the start of holes on each corner of both back pockets. Has anyone else had this problem? Feel free to expand on your answers. (how you feel about it, how long you had them before it happend, or any embarring rips or tears while you were wearing them)
