I applied for a job I was completely unqualified for two years ago. I have since become more qualified and am pursuing a degree in the appropriate field. I'd like to write the hiring manager and ask what else I can do to become a better candidate before I reapply late next year. My gut is telling me I'll regret this as soon as I send it. Is it a bad move to ask a hiring manager what you can do to become a stand out candidate?
