Is tv really that bad for toddlers?

Our t.v stays on sprout 24-7, lol. I'm a stay at home mother and my son gets a lot of outside playtime and we are learning are abc's and 123's (He just turned 2 and I am beaming with pride he can count to 2 and point out A and B!!!). I don't care what anyone else has to say there is nothing wrong with a little t.v. so mommy can cook supper or take a shower with out kids underneath me! I monitor what they watch nothing violent and no bad language. He loves Cars, Toy Story, Caillou is his FAVORITE show, I think if I have to watch that show much longer I'm going to explode!!!! Also, I am an avid reader, so my kids ave every book God ever created.
