Can a grizzly bear outrun a racehorse?

For short distances, yes. Horses, however, have much more endurance. Grizzly Bears can run fifty yards in three seconds. They can run about thirty five to forty miles an hour, while a racehorse typically runs about thirty. However, a racehorse would easily win the Kentucky Derby, since grizzlies are only able to keep this pace up for short distances.
